Yes, schools do kill creativity. As you progress grades, less importance is placed on electives such as art and music. School focuses on academic classes because the school system is built to further the economy. The pressure put on from parents and teachers to focus more on academic classes forces kids to be less creative since Math, Science, and Social Studies requires little to no creativity. In my opinion, schools value kids getting good grades more than kids value learning. Why else would students cheat? The school sytem is set up in a way that doesn't attend to the individual types of learning. They're taught in generalized batches by age. "Schools are built on a "factory model" which denies students the chance of an individual education tailored to meet their needs." I think that the school system should be re-built from scratch so that creativity is valued as much as academics are.
